This year our Convention was held in the pretty seaside town of Southport in the prestigious Prince of Wales Hotel in the town centre. As has been the norm over the last few years we had speakers from far and wide. Worldwide expert on Loricariidae and old friend of the CSG, Ingo Seidel, Dr.Michael Hardman, known for his latest scientific work on the Bullheads of North America, Markos Alexandrou from the Bangor University in Wales and plant expert from Denmark Claus Christensen. We also had our very own secretary, Adrian Taylor on the Friday night with his very own CSG presentation. The Saturday night after dinner speaker was our vice President, Dr. Peter Burgess with a hilarious look back to his beginnings in the hobby. Trophy keepsakes, carved impeccably by our Show Secretory Brian Walsh were presented to each speaker in turn. Other fish keeping organisations were represented including the Anabantid Association of Great Britain, the British Livebearer Association, British Cichlid association, Killifish association, Cichlid Press and also Aquarian and live food stands. The weekend was drawn to a conclusion at about 5.30 on the Sunday night by our Chairman, Ian Fuller, whose hard work alongside the committee and helpers has not gone unnoticed and again they rose to the occasion to make it another successful Convention.
