PHOTO GALLERY 2011 :    Convention                                                       Back to Photo Gallery Index

Our 2011 Convention was held this year at the prestigious Kilhey Court Hotel, in Standish near Wigan where the roots of the CSG reside. The speakers this year where from the top drawer with the amazonian researcher, naturalist and author Michael Goulding, Dr Claudio Oliveira from the University of Sao Paulo Brazil, Dr.Ralf Britz, Researcher of Fishes at the Natural History Museum in London, Dr. Devon Graham from the U.S.A., Hans-George Evers from Germany, Dave Hulse, U.K. from fish food manufacturers, Tetra and our own membership secretary Bob Barnes.
Trophy keepsakes, carved impeccably by our Show Secretory Brian Walsh were presented to each speaker in turn. Other fish keeping organisations that were represented in the CSG marketplace stalls included the British Livebearer Association, British Cichlid association, International Loach Association, and also Aquarian. There was plenty for everybody this year with a record number of dry and live food stands. Pride of place was the BAP displays showcasing the hard work and dedication that goes into breeding the many families of catfish. The weekend was drawn to a close at about 4.30 on the Sunday night by our President, Ian Fuller, whose hard work alongside the committee and helpers has not gone unnoticed and again they rose to the occasion to make it probably the best ever Convention so far. Thanks goes to the many visitors from all corners of the world who attended the weekend and of course thanks must also be given to our sponsors who you can view here. See you all at the same venue in 2012!.
